goodbye G139

Curvy lines - what's not to love?

If I'm staring at a blank page with no idea of what I'm doing there, I'll just doodle a curving line - usually a loose "s" shape - to start me off.

Sometimes I like to be more deliberate and start with a sinuous line that creates a whole heap of stacked paisley shapes then see where they take me.

Some examples: http://www.alittlelime.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/the-end-of-another-journal.html

Here's a looser version: http://www.alittlelime.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/bunzo-weaver.html

Todays offering:
I haven't coloured anything for a while, so went with my fave combo of lime green/purple. I'm o.k. with it, I do love the way the centres look all connected (in some spots, anyway) and, well, all juicy :) I probably would've preferred a greyscale version, though.

For this design I used my favourite pale lime green marker - it was on its last legs - it took a lot of coaxing and we just barely managed to get through colouring this design, only for me to discover that G139 has been discontinued. What???? I now feel I should've, I don't know, maybe saved it for something special. It's definitely going to take some time for me to recover from the horror of no longer having this colour in my marker selection.

Let the weekend begin!

So beautiful Helen - your work has such a lovely flow and I love these colours and your Bunzo variation - perfection plus :)

Oi!!!! This IS something special :) you have given your beloved marker a worthy send-off. What will you use as an alternative now?? This is beautiful, by the way.
Wow! I would not have seen this as Bunzo if you had not said it. Like the repetition of the pattern through out and the spheres. You achieve such a great dimension and roundness with them.

I agree with Mrs. Wibbs! Your art ALWAYS brings a smile to my face! Think of the demise of G139 as making room for your new favorite shade...

Hi Renee. I use promarkers and tria markers for colouring. Love them for blending.

Thank you! I wish I'd had the forethought to buy up refills in this colour before they phased them out - for now I'll just have to use G149 - it's a darker value. Promarkers in the same colour/value start at G159 - darker again. After I use up my tria markers I may have to investigate copics :) I hear good things, but they're a bit of an investment.
I so love your work, Helen. Your curvy, swooping, sweeping designs always draw me in and are so pleasing. Enchanting.

They're still selling them on Amazon UK....I think! (I checked!) - copics are waaaaaay too pricey for my wallet :/

Thank you! They're an add-on item, so will have to see if I can find a book that I need :)

Thanks, Mariet. Unfortunately they don't deliver to AU (often a problem, that, or super-expensive shipping fees!)

wow Helen, I love the way you made the string. I hope you don't mind that I tried this string too for the diva challenge 123. But I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

Thanks! I checked this out - along with amazon UK, unfortunately neither will deliver this item to AU. Ah, well, I just learn to live without it :)
