coneflowers & Scrolled Feather PATTERN

I love coneflowers. I want them ALL over my garden and have tried to grow them several times with no luck - this year I am giving it another go and have both purple and white coneflowers in the ground (currenly dormant), and (I hope) rearing to sprout as soon as spring comes around. So, for now, I have to appease my need by drawing them. This morning, I was totally inspired when I opened my email and found a link from tangle patterns to this gorgeous pattern: cruffle. I am even totally in love with the name - so cute - the next cat I get is going to be called Cruffle (sorry Skittles, Tigger and Tabby - you're just marking time, y'all). O.k., so back to business, as soon as I saw this pattern I thought CONE FLOWER CENTRES! and started drawing them out right away, unfortunately I work for half the day on Thursdays, so I was rudely interrupted, and just got back to it this afternoon. Anyway, LOVING cruffle for the flower centres.
I drew a similar feather in this drawing too, and, though it is pretty straight-forward, thought it would be fun to do a pattern for it, so here it is:
You can also see a video demo of it here.

I have been sitting here for half an hour trying to do the feathery stuff and it's just not happening. It's so pretty, and I love curvy tangly stuff the most... so I will keep trying.

Our echinacea is still in bloom, but we're still in summer. I'd upload you one if I could. :)

OH my! Your drawing/tangle is simply lovely. If your plants don't bloom I suggest you cut this drawing up and stick it in the ground! I come to your blog via Shelley Beauch whose blog I subscribe to...I'm going to put yours in my favorites list...now I'm off to explore more of it.
Lovely new tangle, I look forward to trying it.

Hi Ami, hope you worked it out :)

Lucky you with your echinacea - I have tried growing it the previous 2 years and have planted 4 this year, so am hoping they will work out.
Wonderful pattern. Will be adding it to our library of patterns at http://LineWeaving.com Thank you so much for sharing your art. You are so very talented!

I love yur coneflower pic and your beautiful new tangle, I'm looking forward to trying it tonight. We have coneflowers, and they didn't do good this year, we had a very warm winter, and a very dry spring and summer.
Fantastic this feathers. Love it very much. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful! I love coneflowers, too, but haven't gotten around to adding them to my Dallas, TX backyard. There is a stand of them along a nearby street and I am always tempted to stop and harvest the seeds, but I've been told it is much easier to buy a plant. I hope you have this one framed and placed where you can see it often.

Thankyou! We only get a few frosts a year here, so hopefully our winters are cold enough for the coneflowers - I have about 4 plants put in and started some more seedlings on the go so hope that some of them will take :)
